Bye Jaundice

After 20 days, Adik baby's jaundice ( Demam kuning ) was finally gone! Punya le lama. Alysa dulu tak de jaundice. Adik & Baby pun kejap je. Cleared after 1 week.
In Airis's case, macam2 kitaorang cuba. Mandikan dgn daun belimbing buluh, try mandi daun kucai, bagi minum susu kambing, Mak also suruh bagi minum air rebusan kcg hijau. Tp rasanya Mandi daun belimbing buluh worked for her. Her SB ( serum bilirubin ) shot up to 233 (13.6 mg/dl), lps tu dah mula turun. Fuh lega..I think Adik baby ni kena breastmilk jaundice. Lps je balik rumah, she's fully breastfed. Tp since hr tu I kena transfused byk drh, kut2 le ada effect kat I..hmmm..
Now Cik Jun continues to bath her with air daun belimbing buluh. Nmpak le sikit2 lg kuning kat mata putih dia. But, since on day 20 hr tu SB dia dah 143, so dah kira slamat le tu.
Meanwhile, as the nurses suggested in her examn chart to continue breastfeeding, Baby Airis took on the advice with gusto. She demands for milk every hour! Huwaa.. Mama dia smpai sakit kepala tak cukup tidur..

Makin tembam..On day 21 dah 3.5kg. Naik 1/2 kg. Muka kena tepek bedak sejuk lepas mandi..

Another birthday come & go

Yesterday, we celebrated my birthday in a simple way. I awal2 dah pesan kat Hubby jgn bli a whole cake when he asked what type of cake I wanted. Ni sbb takut tak habis & kalau ada byk, nnt I yg nk mkn byk! :-)
So, I got my requested Secret Recipe's Chocolate Indulgence. The choice of cake bcos it's one of my fav. Another, sbb I biasa mkn masa dlm pntang kat Baby Adalia ( masa ni bday Adik ), ok je, tak de problem. Siap komplot dgn Ila ( masa tu dlm pntg kat Afif) smbunyi dr Mak & MIL dia. Klau bgtau awal2 kt diorg, mesti diaorg tk bg mkn..:-). For this bday, Hubby also bought KFC. Had them for tea. The princesses pulun KFC je. Cake tu diorg dh slow down. Dah kenyang kut..
Thx to the wishes from family & friends kat FB. Hope another year would be a great year. Semoga Allah merahmati & memberkati kami sekeluarga.

Pantang Bersalin

Amalan berpantang differs btw states & cultures. Take for instance btw Johor & Kedah. Kalau ikut Kedah, sesetengah ikan yg tak gatal je boleh makan eg ikan seludu, nyok2, haruan. Tapi ikut Johor / jawa ( acc to MIL ) semua ikan boleh makan. Kalau ikut my Mak , daging semua blh mkn. Ayam kampung boleh gak. Tp ayam dgg tk boleh mula2 tu. I paling suka sup waktu dlm pntang. Normally Mak put heaps of garlic & Ginger in it. Selain buang angin, it's good utk tambah susu. My usual menu during the 1st 3 weeks ; nasi panas, sup ( haruan, daging or ayam kg) & lauk goreng ( eg: ikan grg, dgg goreng halia, paru / hati/ limpa grg ). Kdg2 Mak buat nasi lemuni for breakfast. But my usual breakfast is toasts & milk.
Dlm pntang I mmg tak ambik jamu2. Badan tak thn. Panas sgt kut. Masa bersalin kat lysa, I try gak. But I had headache & sore throat. So, terus stop. Since I bersalin semua ceaser, I took jelly gamat ( orange flavour ), tab haruan & vitamins. Anmum materna mmg I minum in btw meals nak bg susu byk. Pil garlic I amik gak. Very good utk buang angin & elakkan constipation.
As for berurut, normally urut 1 bdn except for perut. Bila Luka dah heal betul2 ( selalunya after 6 mths ), baru I berurut seluruh bdn for 3 days in a row. Masa ni bidan also betulkn peranakan ( bahasa utara: ram batu merian). I prefer this 1 bidan ( Tok long ). Dia urut mmg tak sakit & afterwards badan rasa ringan & refresh je. Yg best angin bdn kita keluar thru dia. Klau org tu byk angin, waktu mengurut tu, Tok long akn sendawa je. Klau teruk sgt dia yg nak termuntah kluarkn angin!
I have another 24 days to go. Pantang 44 hari. Tp certain food I pntang sampai 100 hari. Ada gak food yg pantg 1 year eg air kelapa muda & jambu batu. During pntg 44 hari ni, I mmg tak kluar rumah except klau kena pegi hospital. As for mandian, Mak akan bagi I mandi air rebusan inai, pandan & serai wangi. Sometimes campur daun lemuni.

Pause to Reflect

On wed, I finally had the CBD( urine bag ) taken off. It was a day early from the original schedule due to Hubby's request to the Dr. After 2 weeks of walking around with it, it was such a great relief to get rid of it! At first I was afraid I might have trouble to urinate, but all went well. I also hoped it would be freedom for baby Airis as well. But her SB didn't go down below 150. So kena le pegi amik darah selang shari. Kesian kat dia especially kalau ada sorang nurse tu amik darah. Kasar kut coz adik baby mesti nangis klau dia yg amik darah.
Since I'm feeling much better now, I had time to reflect what I've been thru the past few weeks. I really thank Allah for giving a chance to raise my kids & see my new princess. ( I only got to see her the 2nd day after birth as babies are not allowed in ICU). She's a sweet baby & didn't make a fuss ( according to the nurses at maternity ward). May be she knew her mama was so sick & she had to behave :-)
When I saw the 1.5L mineral water bottle, it dawn on me that I had lost the equivalent of 2 1/2 bottles of blood (3.8L). Then, I count my blessings that I'm still around. That nite in the ICU, I had fever & rigors, they had to put warm blanket on me. The PCA morphine helped a lot in bearing the pain. I know others had gone thru worse experiences, but what I've been thru really had me so much to thank for.
I'm grateful to my loved ones who have been there for me & been very supportive & helped me for a speedy recovery.
These SMSes that I received just before the op made me appreciate the senders so much..
"Ya allah ya tuhanku selamatkanlah anakku dri ujianmu amin. Mak ampunkan segala dosa2 anakanda"
"U tak ada salah ngn I. I ampunkan U dunia akhirat. I pun minta maaf byk2. Insyallah U will b ok. I luv U with al my heart. I will c u CM."
Everytime I read these, I cried..& I thought if I didn't make it during the op, at least I had the forgiveness from the most important people that matter..& of course I'd want The Almighty's forgiveness too..
Both Mak & hubby were outside the OT from 10am till after 5 pm when they were allowed to see me in the ICU. I woke up to see a wonderful face of Mak.

Airis Sara

Airis Sara was born 0n 1st Dec 2010 at 11.27am, weighing 2.94kg, length 50cm.

 Yesterday on her 9th day, kitaorang buat majlis aqiqah & majlis kesyukuran. Pagi tu buat cukur rambut. Since ni anak yang last, Papa cukur sendiri rambur Airis. Over 2 hours le jugak nak mencukur tu, coz seriau kut cukur rambut anak sendiri..:-) Nak tekan kuat2 shaver tu takut berdarah le pulak kulit. As usual, 'belah mulut' was done by Ustazah Marziah, macam the other princesses. Tapi diorang, ustazah yang cukur rambut gak. This time dia supervise je cukur rambut tu. Last nite pulak, pusat adik baby dah tanggal. A bit lambat dari the other princesses i.e 7 days.
 Jemputan kenduri lepas Asar. Lepas Asar tu ada bacaan yaasin. Ramai jugak yang hadir. Penuh living room sampai ke porch. Tetamu yang datang utk kenduri pun mmg ramai. Kitaorang buat kambing as aqiqah. Last tatamu balik after 1.30am! Ni sedara- mara la yang leka berborak. Sekali-sekala jumpa. Thanks to all yang sudi hadir memeriahkan majlis.

Alhamdulillah

I finally had the op on 1st Dec 2010. We are blessed with a baby girl weighing 2.94 kg. Adik baby is doing fine.
There were a lot of complications with me. Masuk OT ard 10am. Tp I sedar after 5 pm. Warded at ICU for 1 day before transferred to maternity ward. I loss a lot of blood, 3.8L. ( our usual blood volume is btw 5-6L ). Was transfused 7 pints of blood. Had pp stage 4 with p. accreta anterior & posterior. There was also bladder injury. Had to be kept on CBD for 2 weeks. Mcm2 complications. Before the op, the gynae said she was also worried about my case! I yg dgr of course la lg berdebuk- debaq. Suspense giler.. Tapi berkat doa family & friends, Allah makbulkan doa hamba2Nya.
Td dah discharged. Adik Baby kuning sikit. Tp follow up dkt Bertam je. As for me I kena pegi HSAH on the 8th & 15 th dec for follow up. Thanks to all doctors, nurses & staff kat maternity ward, OT & ICU @ HSAH. Layanan & services mmg baik. Adik Baby ni kira murah le delivery cost dia. Only a fraction from those of the elder princesses':-)

A day before the big day

Today is my 3rd day kat HSAH. Masuk ptg Ahad. Mlm tu jugak the gynae wat scan. Tp masa tu dia pun tak sure whether ada placenta percreta or not. In this case kena refer tmpat yg ada urologist, most probably HPP.
Yesterday wat doppler scan & found out it's p. accreta. So, he scheduled the op for tomorrow. But, he did outline the complications expected. I'm so worried but hoping for the best & miracle. Hr ni hr ramai Drs wat procedures & investigations. Amongst them, amik darah. 4x amik br dapat cukup darah. Sakit weh! Smpai lebam tgn I..:-( HO kut yg amik drh tu.. Lps tu kena sign 4 consent forms. Kena jumpa anaest. The op would be done under GA.
I'm lucky to get a single room. 2nd class dah penuh. So, they gave me an isolation ward which is very comfy but sejuk giler.. Tp kat sini Hubby tak leh tunggu la. Mak nak tunggu pun kesian kat dia coz tak de katil or sofa. So, lps op kut br dia tunggu.
Td the princesses dtg melawat. So happy to see them. Adik sibuk bertanya mama wat apa kat sini. Told her mama nak bawak adik baby balik..:-)
To family & friends, please du'a that everything will go well during the op. Td masa gynae wat round, diaorg ada mention that they reserved 6 pints of blood for me tomorrow. Hopefully tak de la excessive bleeding.
To Adik Baby, just know that, no matter what, mama will always love u forever. Harap semua berjalan lancar for both of us & Allah will protect us.
To Kakak, Adik @ Baby , my dearest princesses, u're the greatest gifts that Allah has given me. I love u all with all my heart.

Her first fainting spell & Warded today

 Yesterday we went to Dr Zainol's at 11.30am. Tgk2 dia ada case le pulak. So, terus bawak lysa ke dentist. Her first dental appointment. Initially nak jumpa aunty liza. Tp aunty liza ke KL. Jumpa je lah her locum. Dr locum tu pun baik je. Pandai handle the kids. Tp Alysa rasanya gabra gak coz she didn't say a word. Dr tanya pun cakap pakai bahasa isyarat je..:-) Ada a few caries & lubang. Tp kitaorang suruh cabut 1 je coz gigi sebelah tu dah tumbuh. Takut lak nanti tumbuh tak cantik. Yang kena cabut tu dah longgar pun..
 After seeing the dentist, we went shopping. Tengah belek2 kain, tiba2 Alysa jatuh terjelepuk! I thought dia tersadung apa2. Tapi, dia tk bgn2, & mata pun pejam je. Gabra le jugak I. Lps kejutkan dia dia cakap she was thirsty & dizzy. So, papa kena dukung dia jauh le jugak. Turun tangga pulak tu...Maunya sakit le lutut Papa tu angkat her > 20kg body..:-) I terus pegi beli air. Lepas minum air & makan kat KFC, she was her usual self. Baru tersenyum & mau bercakap. Kalau tak, senyap je. Tanya pun angguk or geleng je..
 Balik rumah she told Cik Jun " Tadi Lysa mati..". Tak tau lagi word pitam kut..:-). I think dia pitam coz takut + hypo kut. But she tried to be brave. Darah pun bukannya byk keluar pun. Dah gigi tu mmg dah longgar.
 Today I'm going to be warded. Pagi tadi masa Hubby called the gynae, terus dia suruh masuk ward ptg ni. Ada kawan who used to work at this hospital & knows this gynae called the gynae last nite to give the intro about my case. So, masa Hubby called tu, she was expecting the call la..
 I supposed the op would be scheduled when the slot is available.

Worrisome final check- up

 Today I had a final check- up before my supposedly scheduled ceaser on 2nd Dec this Thursday . Tup2, I got a disturbing news from my gynae, Dr Zainol. He had to refer me to a hospital due to placenta previae stage 2-3. The concern is uri tu tak bergerak langsung unlike my previous pregnancies. Yg lain tu masa nak dekat due date, uri naik. This time stay je kat situ. Dr takut uri tu melekat kat scars since I had 3 previous LSCS. In that case Dr had to cross match my blood.The problem is kat this maternity centre tak de blood bank. So, in case of complications like loss of excessive blood, susah nak dpt blood supply which would take at least 2 hrs upon request. Tu pun dpt 1 pint je. Another thing is they might have to make vertical incision rather than the usual LSCS..arrggh..
 Now I dah start risau. Dah biasa dgn the same gynae during 4 pregnancies, ni last min nak kena tukar gynae mmg le seriau je. Nak plk dgn govt hospital..Tgh survey for a suitable place to do the ceaser. Dr Zainol mmg suggested govt hospital as the 1st choice.So, tgh cari yg sesuai. Got to decide by tomorrow.
 Kalau I buat antenatal check-up kat govt, week 36 dah kena warded. Tp since check kat private, dah 38 wks still dok merewang merata. Siap bwk the princesses ke Dinotrek lg yesterday kat Jusco. Lps tu singgah lak kat Popular di Megamall. Stock up on my books nak baca masa berpantang. Bila balik last night tummy rasa keras semacam je coz banyak berjalan kut.
Hopefully, everything will be ok. Semoga Allah mempermudahkan the op without any complications. Amin..

Cubaan Mencuri & Rice Casserole

 On Friday morning ( Raya ke3 ) I received a call from K.Liza, my neighbour. Tanya ada org tak kat rumah coz the front sliding door was opened. Risau gak. I suruh la dia p investigate coz masa tu I still kat kg. Tgk dia tak phone tu kira okla coz ptg tu kitaorang cadang nak balik. Pagi tu dok mengemas rumah mak tak habis2 lagi. Berkemas since raya ke2. Barang yg kitaorang buang ada le 1 lori. Mostly baju2 lama & computers. Tu pun separuh baju2 dah dibakar. Furnitures yang dah rosak pun kena bakar. Mmg lapang la kat atas rumah mak. Friday morning tu kitaorang process lak living room esp tv cabinet. Hubby sempat mengecat lagi living room tu. TV cabinet tu pun kena bakar.. but we bought mak a new 1. Kalau tak, confirm dia tak bg bakar yg lama..:-)
 Back to our house, sampai je tgk2 tingkap tepi pun 3-3 terbuka & the back gate was opened too. Masuk je living room, bau hancing. Ada kucing pegi mark its territory kat our living room! huwaa..Sliding door K.Liza dah tutupkan. Tgk kat dlm semua still intact. Alhamdulillah. Lampu porch & lampu kat TV area mmg kitaorang pasang. Tp lampu sensor kat blkang kitaorang off masa nak balik kg tu coz gelong sikit lampu tu. Mlm br blh reset plk. Tp since we all blk kg ptg, tu yg off terus tu. May be pencuri tu terkejut kat sesapa kut, terus lari. K.Jun lak park keta dia kat rumah we all coz dia ke KL. Td dia blk tgk2 pintu keta mcm renggang & duit syiling dlm keta pun kena sapu..
 For lunch today, I made rice casserole. Tak larat nak telan daging dah. Yesterday buat korban kat sini diorang ada buat kenduri utk org yg gotong royong. Malas nak pegi. Hubby bwk blk lauk.

Rice Casserole



Bahan-Bahan:

2 mangkuk nasi
3 ketul ayam, potong kecil
5 ekor udang
1 telur
1 ulas bawang putih; hiris
1 ulas bawang merah, hiris
1/2 kiub pati ayam
garam & gula secukup rasa ( Boleh tambah serbuk lada hitam jika suka )
1 carrot , potong kiub
1 tangkai daun sup

White sauce:
1 sb margerine
1 sb tepung gandum
2 cwn susu
garam
cheese

Cara:
1. Tumis bawang putih & merah dlm seddikit minyak. Masukkan ayam & udang. Masukkan sedikit air. Kacau hingga ayam & udang masak.
2. Masukkan carrot dikuti pati ayam,  garam & gula. Pecahkan telur & gaul sebati. Masukkan nasi & kacau rata. Taburkan daun sup. Masukkan nasi goreng ke dalam kaserol.
3. White sauce: Cairkan marjerin. Masukkan tepung & kacau sebati. Tuang susu & kacau hingga pekat, masukkan garam & cheese.
4. Tuang white sauce ke atas nasi tadi & taburkan cheese. Bakar pada suhu 180C selama 20 min.

Raya Haji & Carrot Cake

 Raya Haji as usual tak le semeriah Raya Puasa. Tapi juadah raya mesti ada. I malas nak buat kuih raya. Just made Carrot Cake & Kek Kukus Coklat utk bwk blk kg. Carrot cake tu malam raya dah selesai. Dihabiskan oleh anak2 sedara. Resipi CMG . Thanx Cik Mat. Kek Coklat tu sempat simpan utk raya. Tapi lupa amik gambar.
 Mak  sediakan ketupat palas, masak anga, kari daging  & daging masak wira. Juadah wajib dihari raya. Raya kali ni Ila rajin nak sediakan bihun soto utk tetamu. Habis anak2 sedara kena kerah tenaga tolong prepare bahan2. Tapi hasilnya mmg marvelous. By petang raya, habis soto seperiuk besar. Bergedil tak sempat pun jamu kat tetamu. Resepi Indon mari..
 Kitaorang beraya ketempat biasa. Dijamu juadah2 berat. Alysa simpan perut sampai we all ke rumah Kak Dah aka tokey bihun sup. Sampai menghirup pinggan dia pulun..:-). By this time kitaorang dah kekenyangan dgn ketupat, soto, laksa, & mee kari. Tapi Alysa tak jamah sume tu. Nak tunggu bihun sup agaknya..The final house dapat makan tapai pulut. Mmg sedap!

Carrot Pound Cake


BAHAN-BAHANNYA :

125 g mentega
1/2 cawan gula halus
1/4 cawan gula perang (brown sugar)
1 1/2 cawan tepung naik sendiri (self-raising flour)
2 biji telur gred A
1/2 cawan whipping cream (kalau tak de boleh ganti dgn susu cair)
1 camca teh esen vanilla
3/4 cawan parutan lobak merah
1 genggam isi kacang pistachio, cincang kasar (jika suka)

CARA MEMBUATNYA :

1. Panaskan oven pada suhu 175C. Lenser loaf tin berukuran (9 x 4 x 3.5) inci dengan mentega, alas dasar tin dengan kertas minyak, lenser kertas minyak tadi. Ambil 2 camca besar tepung dalam resipi tadi dan gaul dengan lobak parut hingga rata. Ketepikan.
2. Putar mentega bersama gula halus dan gula perang hingga putih, masukkan telur satu persatu dan terus memutar hingga kembang dan gebu. Pada kelajuan sederhana, masukkan esen vanilla diikuti terpung berselang seli dengan whipping cream (atau susu cair), hingga habis, kacau rata.
3. Tambah lobak merah dan cincangan kacang pistachio. Gaul sebati. Tuang dalam tin tadi dan bakar 1 jam atau hingga masak.

The Cheeky One & Choosing the name

 Baby has this habit of seating with me in the car. Tp seatbelt tetap pakai ok.. But, sometimes ada gak dia nak dok kat belakang dgn her sisters. Tp halfway thru the journey, if she was not asleep she'd crawl to the front seat.." nak dok mama..".
 Yesterday, while on the way ke Jusco nak bwk diorang ke Dinotrek, she was in 1 of her moods nak duduk dgn I. Tp time2 camni mmg le perut I akan mengeras once in a while. ( Masa contraction..). Masa ni mmg le sakit kalau Baby menyandar kat i. So, I bebel le kat dia. Then, dia pusing ke I then started singing " Ibu..ibu..engkauyah atu ati ku..Bila..". Boleh tersengih lagi tu..:D. Terus le cair mama dia..Pandai le pulak bodek mama dia. Tp mmg now she's in her singing phase. Habis sume buku nursery rhymes dia khatam. Kalau suruh mama dia nyanyi ok lg, tp kalau suruh papa... hancuss!
 Last nite Hubby & I finally decided on a name for Adik Baby. ( The one yg tak keluar lg ni..hehe..Dah tak tau nak panggil apa..) Selalunya mmg kitaorang dah pilih nama before each of them dilahirkan. Cuma. I think this one lambat le sikit decide dr yang lain. Tp tak finalised lagi ni. We are still hoping for a miracle, kut2 tiba2 keluar boy..:-). Tp girl pun tak pe. Sume geng mama..

Ayra's 4th Birthday

 Yesterday was Adik's 4th birthday. We made a very small celebration. Only invited a few friends & neighbours with kids her age. Tak larat I nak buat besar2an. This time she initially requested a Mickey Mouse's cake, then Tweety. Tp since I tak jumpa gambar tweety, so buat jelah Mickey & Minnie mouse cake. First time tried my hands at cake decoration. Mmg le tersangatlah comotnya cake tu..:-) Dah tangan pun keras je. Tak berseni langsung! Hubby helped out with the decoration too..hehe.. Put the side icing. Anyway, yang penting Adik suka kek tu. But, tastewise, terkeras le sikit cake tu coz the nite before masa cake tgh masak, we went grocery shopping. So, bila balik cake terbiar about 2 hours dlm warm oven. Rasa mcm nak buat cake lain tp dah mls coz dah tgh malam dah!
 For menu, I prepared bihun soto, nuggets & custard jelly ( tgk kat dapur ain @ sweetthots ). Ila made puding trifle. K.Jun bawak seafood kueteow goreng ( mmg marvelous ) & betik. Lain2 as usual la for kid's party ada tit bits, jajan & goody bags. All food ngam2 je.

The Lost Tooth & Scones

 Gigi Alysa mmg byk dah rosak. May be bcos she likes sweet stuff & dia suka gonggong botol susu. Nak habiskan sebotol punya le lama sampai kena ugut nak tuang susu dalam cawan baru dia habiskan susu. The bottom tooth mmg dah longgar for quite a while. So, If she had to bite on chewy food, she'd use her left teeth.
 Last nite masa nak tido, she pulled out her bottom tooth. Siap boasting cakap tak sakit pun! Yelah..dah gigi tu mmg nak tercabut. Cepat betul gigi dia tercabut. Baru 5 y.o. Meanwhile, gigi adik mmg cantik je. Kalau gosok gigi pun mmg betul2. Susu pn minum cepat je. I think gigi susu dia may be bertahan sampai sekolah. Baby lak mungkin senasib dgn Alysa..:-) Diet sepesen je..
 Bebaru ni I wat Cheese Scones. Alysa loved 'em so much. I think she polished off 10pcs. Siap angkut balang bwk balik Jitra. Tapi bukan dia bagi kat tok dia, dia yang habiskan. 1 of the reasons she loved the scones was may be bcos she helped me put the cheese topping. Another bcos she loves anything cheesy.

Cheese Scones


Ingredients:

3 cups self raising flour
1/2 tsp salt
45g butter
80gm grated cheese
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup softened butter for topping

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 180C.
2. Sift flour & salt into bowl. Rub in butter and stir in cheese.
3. Pour in milk and mix to form a soft dough. Place on floured surface and pat into 2 cm thickness.
4. Cut with round floured cutter.
5. Arrange on a greased baking tray. Spread softened butter on top of the scones and sprinkle with extra grated cheese.
6. Bake for 20 - 30 min or until golden.
7. Serve warm with jam or fresh cream.

Rearranging the furniture again & visiting flooded areas

 Everytime nak sambut orang baru, we had to buy some new furnitures & rearrange the old ones. Siap mengecat feature walls lagi! Saje nak kelainan. Nak sambut raya pun tak macam tu coz we all tak raya kat rumah :-)
 Last week, we have been busy tidying up the house. Bought a new bedroom set for the princesses with 8' x 8' wardrobe. Ha! Boleh sumbat macam2 dlm wardrobe tu including mama's expanding clothes.. Hikhik.Yang tak nak guna boleh bg kat org lain yg nak guna. Once in a while time mood rajin I spring cleaned our clothes to be given away. Tak le menyemak our wardrobes & made other people happy too. Sesetengah baju tu esp hubby's ada yang pakai skali je. Dia dah tak nak pakai. So, mmg baru le lagi.
After dah 2-3 mlm mengemas rumah tu, then Hubby wat projek mengecat feature wall kat living room lak. This time we chose creme colour to change the old dark green one. Bagi nampak cerah sikit. So, living room nampak lapang le sikit. Mossies pun sure tak suka..:-)
 Then, on Sunday bila dengar berita kat Jitra banjir dah surut, we decided to go & have a look. Banjir this time memang teruk. Kat rumah mak tak banjir tapi mata air yang masuk. Jenuh gak mengelap air tu. We stopped by in Kepala Batas to visit some relatives' houses. Rumah mak chaq as usual was the worst. Air naik sampai bumbung. Masa we all pegi tu, my cousins tgh cuci lumpur2 & selut kat lantai. Hubby pun tolong gak mencuci. Kat rumah Pak Kechik & Pak Su dah dibersihkan cuma nak susun barang2 je. Masing2 sakit pinggang & keletihan. Rumah tok lang pun tengah cuci lantai but the low water presure made it slow to clean up.
 Masa ronda pekan Jitra, byk kedai tgh melelong barang2 yang kena air, mostly pakaian. Some were given free. Baju kurung sepasang RM10. Tudung2 RM0.50. Kasut2 sekolah RM1. Blankets were sold at RM3-5. Ramai yg ambik kesempatan cari brg lelong. Rasanya those yg rumah tak banjir kut. We all lalu je tak turun kereta pun.
 Tapi kedai2 runcit yg kesian. Brg2 byk rosak. Beras2 semua bloated boleh wat tepung. Beras kat BERNAS pun diaorang bagi free je utk sape2 nak bagi makan ayam etc. Kena air gak. Such losses.. Now kat Alor Star lak banjir tak clear lagi. Raya haji ni mmg ramai le orang Kedah & Perlis tak raya. Masing2 sibuk kemas rumah.

Another check- up

 Yesterday kena pegi antenatal check- up kat my gynae, Dr Zainol. Since dah 33 wks, I pun booked le siap2 the big day nnt. Kitaorang nak Thursday. So, the suitable date would be on 2nd Dec. But, before tu, I have another check-up to go.
 Semalam, masa scan, uri still kat bawah but naik sikit je. Bb pun still in horizontal position. The weight is now 2.5kg. Kalau ikut the birth weights of the princesses, diorang semua around 3 kg ie 3, 3.1 & 3.05kg respectively. This time pun masa bb keluar nnt pun may be ard that wt.
 Untuk operation kali ni, actually I seriau gak coz Dr dah siap2 warning, kalau the previous incision just muat2 utk kluarkn bb & they need more space for BTL, may be kena wat gak sikit vertical incision. Ngeri je bila dgr dia ckp cam tu. Yg horizontal incision tu dah cukup sakit, ni pulak nak tmbh vertical one lak. Ish.. Hopefully, tak perlu le. Masa bb Adalia dulu, they had to push 4 org incl the anaest, Dr Mansor utk kluarkn dia. I yg sedar masa tu, eventhough tak rasa apa2 from my waist down, mmg dah seriau dah masa tu. But, Alhamdulillah semua slamat.
 Meanwhile, since masih larat & ada mood nak try resipi2, I made Rich Choc Pudding. Ni kes nak menghabiskan susu coklat Alysa. Terbeli brand yang dia tak suka. So, terperap le tak de org makan. Resipi cedok dari Jun kat myResipi. Very nice & rich indeed. The princesses love it.

Bahan-bahan ( 1 loyang sederhana besar )

1/2 cawan serbuk koko
1 cawan gula ( I reduced to 3/4 cup )
1/2 cawan susu tepung ( I used susu tepung coklat )
1/2 sudu teh garam
4 1/4 cawan air
4 sudu besar tepung jagung
1/2 sudu teh esen vanilla
3 sudu besar butter
1 paket serbuk agar2 (10-11gm)

Cara-cara
1.Campurkan semua bahan kecuali butter dan kacau selalu hingga mendidih.
2.Masukkan butter, kacau hingga pekat.
3.Angkat dan masukkan kedalam loyang atau acuan yg disukai. Sejukkan.

Baby's Birthday

 Last Friday we went to Bukit Merah Laketown for Baby's 2nd Birthday. That was the second time we celebrated her birthday there. This time we booked 7 rooms for family members. Memula nak celebrate kat rumah je. Tapi tiba2 je Hubby ajak ke situ. Alysa pun dah lama ajak nak pegi swim kat BML.
 Her birthday was actually on Saturday. Tapi celebrate jumaat malam tu. She was excited splashing at the swimmong pool on Friday afternoon & Saturday morning. So, mlm tu buat le makan sikit. I made Oreo Cheesecake ( requested by Alysa ) for her. Kak gave another cake for her & Afif ( celebrated his 2nd birthday 10 days earlier ). Food ada macam2 sampai tak terhabis. But, we had a great time.
 To my dear Baby Adalia, " Happy 2nd Birthday. May you stay as sweet & cheeky as you are. May Allah guides you in whatever you do. We will always love you."

Bahan-bahan:

10 g serbuk agar-agar
1/3 cawan blueberry filling
1/2 cawan gula pasir
4 sudu besar susu pekat manis
1 cawan
2 cawan susu segar
1 sudu besar mentega
2 sudu besar tepung kastard + 2 sudu besar air (dibancuhkan)

Cara-cara
1.Satukan air bersama gula dan serbuk agar-agar. Didihkan hingga larut.
2.Masukkan susu segar dan susu pekat. Kacau sebati.
3.Masukkan bahan-bahan selebihnya dan kacau lagi hingga kelihatan pekat.
4.Tuangkan ke dalam bekas besesuaian dan sejukkan terlebih dahulu.
5.Hiaskan dgn topping blueberry atau fresh blueberries. Sedia untuk dinikmati.

Malam Berinai & Majlis Menyambut Menantu

 Sampai je dari KL on Friday tu, sempat lepak for a few hours kat rumah before heading to Jitra. Mmg I byk travel la during this pregnancy. Sampaikan my friend Zuraida kata " buas betoi.." ( Hehe..lasak la tu utk version utara ). Yelah, everytime dia call mesti I tgh on the way to go somewhere. Hopefully, baby ni tak de lah kaki jalan sangat..:-) Jalan berfaedah tak pe..
 Last Saturday ada majlis bertandang ke rumah menantu Kak. So, malam tu buat majlis berinai. Last week Izatul lupa berinai. Since inai tu banyak lebih, the princesses pun sibuk nak berinai. First time diorang berinai, padahal kat rumah kitaorang ada 4 pokok inai yang gemuk2 & siap berbunga lagi. Wangi betul bunga inai.. Bila Alysa & Adik berinai, Baby pun sibuk nak berinai gak. Memula bubuh satu jari, dia suruh tempek semua jari. Lepas siap dah sibuk pulak suruh bukak. Bila dah bukak, dah melalak suruh basuh bagi hilang warna orange inai tu. Haru biru betul!

Sehari di KL

 Last week mmg sibuk betul. Tak plan pun ke KL. Tetiba Hubby ajak temankan dia ke KL utk selesaikan kerja dia. Kalau I tak ikut dia, dia nak wat day trip je. Kesian lak & risau gak dia drive sorang2. So, we headed to KL on thursday morning at around 8am. Reached KL around 11.30am. Terus ke Dayabumi Complex. After pusing cari parking 3-4 kali, managed to get to the office before 12pm. Alhamdulillah kerja selesai before lunchtime. Cepat betul!
 Since it was still early, we decided to play tourists. We went to Masjid Negara ( yang dah berkurun I tak pegi..rasanya the last time I went there was when I was in primary school..) for zohor prayer. Cramped kaki panjat tangga masjid. Nampak sangat tak fit or may be I need more calcium supplements. Tapi this time nasib my feet tak bengkak due to the long distance travelling.
 Lepas zohor, we went to Central Market.( the last time I went there when I was in AUSMAT ). Nothing much changed. Kedai buku yang boleh trade-in tu is still there..Lama betul bisnes pak cik tu..Kitaorang siap beli barang lagi kat situ..& had tea there. Lepas habis ronda CM, it was still early, so, we decided to drop by at Midvalley. Tempat yang sepatutnya dekat je dah jadi jauh coz Hubby asyik termiss jalan masuk ke situ. Tapi sampai gak hajat nak ke situ ( eventhough Hubby dah nak give up dah masa tu ).
 By the time we finished shopping, it was a good time to head to my nephew's place. Tapi singgah jap rumah my cousin in Sri Petaling for dinner. Dia jemput..Sampai rumah Ismadi ( my nephew), Wahyu dah siapkan dinner gak. So, 2 x dinner.
 I made some muffins ( again..) for the princesses & bawak buah tangan ke Putrajaya. Resepi dari dapur K.Ummi.

Choc Chips Muffins



Bahan:

1 3/4 cawan tepung gandum
1/4 cawan serbuk koko
1 cawan gula kastor
1 sk baking powder
1 sk soda bikarbonat
1/2 sk garam
1 cawan fresh milk
1 biji telur - pukul sikit
1/3 cawan minyak
1 sk esen vanila
3/4 cawan choc chips
Kepingan badam, hiasan

Cara Membuat:

1.Campurkan tepung, gula, serbuk koko, soda bikarbonat, baking powder dan garam. Ayakkan dan ketepikan.
2.Dalam bekas lain, campurkan susu, telor, esen vanila dan minyak. Kacau rata.
3.Masukkan campuran tepung tadi. Kacau rata.
4.Masukkan choc chips.
5.Sudukan adunan ke dalam muffin cups 3/4 penuh . Taburkan kepingan badam dan bakar selama 15 minit /hingga masak.

Another Wedding @ Bendang

Last Sunday was Kak's majlis menyambut menantu. Kali ni buat kat Restoran Bendang di Kelubi again. We like the food, ambience & service. Kalau lauk tak cukup ( due to the huge turn out), diorang boleh masak tambah kat situ gak. Like in yesterday's event, By 4pm lauk dah macam tak cukup, so Abang tempah for another few hundred people, then kejap je diorang masak siapkan lauk. I also like their laksa siam which was the side dishes kak ordered. Something different from our usual laksa Kedah. Tapi Cendol & Teh Tarik laku betul. Tak sempat I nak try cendol ( Mak ordered from another caterer ).
 Before majlis started at 12.30pm, sempat lagi kitaorang shopping baju kat Alysa. Tapi tak jumpa baju hijau ( theme colour ). So, dia sorang je pakai baju kuning. Susah betul nak cari baju ke dia. Keluar masuk 3-4 shopping compexes le jugak, baru ada yang berkenan dihati & sesuai le saiz & design dengan badan dia yang bulat tu. Kalau nak shopping baju utk Adik & Baby, senang je nak jumpa baju yang cantik & sesuai dgn badan diorang yang selim-melim gitu..:-)
 For majlis tu, I wat choc chip muffins to be distributed to tetamu. Kak decided to give to rombongan pengantin lelaki. Lupa nak ambik gambar muffins tu. Had to be decorated with melted choc, coz rupa muffins tu tak semua yang cun..hehe.. So, mmg le kena mekap sikit. Lepas mekap baru nampak cun, I pun senang hati le sikit nak bagi kat orang.
 To Izatul & Amin, Selamat Pengantin Baru. Semoga kekal ke akhir hayat & ke syurga ( as she put it..). Semoga jodoh ini dirahmati & diberkatiNya.

Muffins

The past few days I buat projek menghabiskan stok. Nak habiskan stok blueberry filling & banana yang dah masak ranum. So, muffins were the easiest solution. The princesses pun excited nak menolong. Tolong susun muffin cups & kacau apa2 yang patut. Besides that, tolong tengok & makan je la..:-) Otherwise, rosak resepi nanti.

Blueberry Muffins

Bahan-bahan :

125 gm mentega
150 gm gula halus
2 biji telur
250 gm tepung kek/tepung serbaguna
1 sudu teh serbuk penaik
secubit garam
70 gm susu segar/uht
1/2 cawan inti blueberi
1 sudu teh esen vanila

Cara:
Pukul mentega dan gula hingga putih dan gebu.
Masukkan telur sebiji demi sebiji dan pukul sebati.Masuk esen vanila.
Ayak tepung, serbuk penaik dan garam,masukkan ke dalam adunan mentega berselang-seli dengan susu sambil digaul rata.
Sudukan dalam cawan kertas. Isikan 1/2 cawan saja.Letakkan inti blueberi atasnya.
Bakar pada suhu 180 darjah celcius selama 25 minit hingga masak.

The next project was making chocolate chips banana muffins. Hafiz, my nephew suka sesangat. Siap menghabiskan stok muffins yang I bwk balik kg. This recipe is so easy to make and yummy too.

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar - ( used brown sugar to reduce the sweetness )
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt 1 egg
1/2 cup vegetable oil - ( I reduced the oil to 1/4 cup )
1/2 cup plain yogurt  - ( I used fresh milk )
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, combine the egg, oil, yogurt and vanilla. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in bananas and chocolate chips. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full. Bake at 180C for 22-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

Ayra

Today, we officially launched  ayratm cosmeceutic range. The choice of the name was done after much deliberation by Hubby & I. Yelah kan, when the princesses are old enough to understand, nanti diorang ingat pilih kasih le pulak...:-). One of the reasons we chose the name was because it's simple & Adik pulak mmg jenis suka melawa. Kalau lepas mandi, Cik jun akan siapkan dia & sanggul rambut dia, nanti her favourite phrase is " Adik suka cantik.." So, we decided on her name for the cosmeceutic range. Kalau ada rezeki may be we'll use Alysa & Adalia in other ranges..:-). This is considered an advance birthday present for her where she'll turn 4 y.o on 13 November 2010. The range will expand soon, insyaAllah.

Masih Mood Raya

 Hubby tiap2 malam ada jemputan open house. Normally, open house kat taman we all ni. Kalau weekend baru kitaorang pegi 1 family. Yesterday ada buat open house kat Bertam Perdana. Meriah betul! Macam2 stalls which served different kind of food eg. murtabak, satay, cendol, roti jala, mee goreng, lemang ketupat, laksa, mee kuah, rojak etc. Sampaikan tak termakan semua tu.. Kalau try gak semua stalls tu maunya pecah perut kekenyangan. I really love the murtabak Sg Dua tu. Tak menang tangan dia menggoreng murtabak tu.
 Hari ni lak Zuraida wat open house tp wat kat Damiral's Grill coz bibik dia tak de. So, tak leh le wat kat rumah dia, nnt tak de org nak mengemas..:-) So, this year tak de kambing golek as usual. But, the food prepared by Ely as usual mmg sedap. Hubby 7 I je yang beriye makan. Tp the princesses jamah sikit2 je.
 Bebaru ni masa Sumai & Liza beraya kat rumah I, sempat le prepare bihun soto & puding suji. Puding Suji ni resepi Ila. Normally dia wat kat dlm loyang. Tp I letak kat bekas2 kecik. Senang nak hidang.

Bahan:
1 cwn tepung suji / semolina
1L susu segar
3 sb gula ( optional )
1 kotak jelly NONA - any flavour. ( I guna perisa strawberry this time )
hirisan peach

Cara:
1. Masak susu , suji & gula hingga pekat.
2. Tuang dalam loyang. Susun hirisan peach.
3. Masak jelly. Tuang di atas campuran suji.
4. Sejukkan.
5. Hidang bersama susu cair atau krimer.

Raya Sakan

 Raya tahun ni mmg jalan sakan. The 1st week of raya kitaorang raya Kedah & Penang. Masuk 2nd week kitaorang raya Johor , NS & KL. Sampai bengkak2 kaki I bcoz of the long distance travelling & asyik duduk dalam keta je.
 But it was fun meeting with family & friends. Kitaorang sempat buat mini x-perth gathering in Sg Petani & Kajang. Dapat le jumpa kawan2 yang dah berubah shapes & sizes..haha..Theme kat Sg Petani was western food. Thanks Liza for the yummy spread. Sempat lagi tu masak macam2 dengan bukak klinik lagi pagi tu. Kat rumah Kanan @ Kajang pulak masakan malaysia.. Tp kitaorang mmg pulun the marvelous mee kuah prepared by Zuha. Alysa siap bertambah sambil memuji masakan auntie Zuha.
 The 1st day raya kitaorang jln kat area kg tu je. Tu pun semua rumah served heavy food eg bihun sup, soto, nasi tomato, bihun goreng, bihun soto etc besides the usual raya spread like ketupat & kuih muih. Kat rumah mak cik konsyah mmg compulsary dia served tapai pulut utk kitaorg..
 Masa kat Batu Pahat lak, 1st time I pegi beraya kat sedara- mara sebelah MIL. Selalunya beraya dekat rmh sedara2 area rmh MIL, mostly sedara sebelah arwah FIL. Kat Parit Warijo ni ( sedara sebelah MIL ) mmg neat & cantik je rumah2 kat situ. Diorang siap ada pertandingan laman tercantik. Tapi since banyak rumah nak kena pegi, we only spent around 10 to 15 mins in each house.

Kuih Raya 2010

Tahun ni I sempat buat 4 cookies. Selalunya masa previous years, mula2 tu berkobar2 nak buat kuih raya, dah akhir ramadhan jadi malas le pulak. Adik's favourite are Biskut Badam Rangup & Choc Chip Cookies. Alysa & Baby makan tapi tak beriya2. For each type, dapat le 2 balang each. So, boleh bagi kat mak & MIL.

Bahan-bahan ( lebih kurang 100 kpg )

• 190 g mentega- lembut
• 45 g gula perang
• 80 g gula kastor/icing
• 220 g tepung gandum
• 1/2 sk rata baking soda
• 1 sk serbuk koko(lebihkan jika suka utk mendapatkan cookie yang gelap)
• 1/2 sk esen vanilla
• 170 g choc chip
• 170 g badam cincang kasar- di panggang
• 1 biji telur -yg sedang

Cara-cara
1. Tepung, baking soda, koko di ayak bersama.
2. Mentega, gula icing, gula perang di gaul rata.
3. Masukkan telur dan esen dan digaul lagi hingga sebati.
4. Masukkan pula campuran tepung,gaul diikuti dgn choc chip dan badam cincang dan di gaul hingga rata dan sebati.
5. Susun doh sesudu2 di atas loyang pembakar dan bakar hingga garing mengikut suhu kepanasan oven masing2

Alysa's 1st attempt at fasting

 Now ni sume orang mesti tgh sibuk buat kuih raya. Yang tak buat sendiri, mesti dok buat kuih tunjuk2..:-) I haven't really finished my Raya shopping. But, everything's ready for the princesses except for their baju kurung which are to be collected tomorow. They even had their new bracelets. Mahal mak oi..gold now ni. The price almost tripled from the one we bought for Alysa 5 years ago which was of about the same weight. I'm not really into jewelleries. Tapi dah ada anak2 dara ni kena le bagi gak sorang satu as penyeri..chewah!
 Today konon2nya Alysa nak belajar puasa. Dah nak raya baru nak puasa..:D So, last nite she refused her usual bottle before going to sleep. She requested a glass of milk instead. Pagi tadi I kejutkan dia for sahur. Since she doesn't like rice, I offered to make her toasts. Orang tak pernah sahur, so mmg slow je la nak makan. At last, she said she'd eat in the morning. Lepas explained that she couldn't eat in the morning, she finished off a bottle of milk.
 Pagi tadi masa I siap nak pegi keja at after 10am, I tgk dia tgh minum susu. Cik Jun buatkan coz dia tak tau Alysa puasa. So, on & off le puasa dia today..hehe..Masa lunch ( according to Cik Jun ), memula dia tak nak makan. Then, tak tahan godaan Adik & Baby, dia p le nganga mulut suruh Cik Jun suapkan! Lepas lunch dia bagitau Cik Jun, Mama suruh puasa..So, resume puasa balik..hikhik..
 Yesterday I dah start mengukis. Managed to do 2 cookies. Biskut Bunga Cina & Biskut Badam rangup. Senang le buat. May be I'll do 2 or 3 more cookies.

Bahan-bahan:
150 g mentega
100 g gula aising
1 biji telur gred A (berat kurang lebih 60 g sebiji)
1/2 camca teh esen vanilla
100 g tepung gandum*
100 g tepung kastard*
75 g tepung jagung (cornstarch)*(*disatukan dan diayak)
50 g serbuk badam
50 g tepung gandum (extra)

Untuk Hiasan:
1 kuning telur
Badam cincang secukupnya

Cara:
1. Pukul mentega dan gula aising hingga berkrim. Masukkan telur dan esen vanilla. Terus memukul hingga gebu.
2. Sementara itu gaul serbuk badam bersama tepung yang telah diayak, kemudian masukkan tepung tadi sedikit demi sedikit ke dalam adunan mentega, gunakan speed perlahan. Jika adunan kelihatan terlalu lembik, masukkan sedikit lagi tepung (50 g, extra), hingga adunan tidak melekit. (Biar kan sekejap adunan...)
3. Ambil 1/3 doh tadi dan canai 1/2 cm tebal, terap dengan acuan kegemaran dan susun atas dulang pembakar, sapu kuning telur dan tabur badam cincang, tekan sedikit supaya badam melekat. Bakar dalam oven yang telah dipanaskan pada suhu 175C selama 15 - 20 minit. Sejukkan atas jaringan sebelum disimpan dalam bekas kedap udara...

Berbuka @ Jitra

 Penat balik dari KL belum habis, pagi2 smlm mak called jemput berbuka kat rumah. Dia bgtau Pak Cik Lin balik Kedah. So yesterday was mak's turn utk hostkan berbuka. Masa dia called tu Hubby ke market. So, I bgtau le may be tak dapat balik kut. Tup2 bila I balik kerja at 2.30pm tu Hubby tetiba aje ajak balik. But, sempatlah I sediakan Puding Roti Karamel. Then, off we go..
 Sampai rumah Mak, tgk2 dia bersilat sorang2 kat dapur. Kesian.. She started cooking from morning. Mak oi..Kalau I tak sanggup! But as usual, she prepared our favourites eg kerabu perut & pelam, gulai rebung, limpa goreng berlada, masak lemak otak berlada etc. By the time sume org sampai, tgk2 penuh 2 meja dgn laukpauk. Semua pakat bwk macam2...& Ila brought home kereta raya. Nak wat surprise la tu..Today, diorang rasmi kereta dia pakat p Singkir & Tanjung Dawai.

Today ada jamuan berbuka kat dewan fasa 6 ni. So, ada le gotong royong masak from 11am. Tp I tak leh pegi coz today is K.Jun's day off & Hubby lak kerja. Leceh nak bawak the princesses ni. So, Hubby balik 1.30pm tu dia aje yang pegi. Masa tu I dah malas nak pegi.
 For Iftar today, I berbuka sorang2 kat rumah ( Of course le with the princesses yg tak posa ) dgn lauk yg dimasak di dewan. Tapi I goreng gak terubuk utk I & made cucur durian. Nak menghabiskan stok durian.

Cucur Durian


 For cucur durian ni I campur 1 cwn isi durian, 1/2 cwn tepung gandum, 1/2 cwn tepung naik sendiri, 2 sb gula, secubit garam & 1/2 cawan air. Goreng dgn api sederhana. Hasil: Nice & lembut. Crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Bila sejuk pun tak keras. Baby & Adik suka sangat.
 Kek batik ni pulak I wat awal puasa lagi. Tapi baru nak tayang. Selalu buat. Resepi main campak2 je tapi based on resepi erynemysha.

Kek Batik


Bahan-bahan ( 5-6 orang )

biskut marie yg telah dipatah dua
1 buku mentega
1 tin susu pekat
1 paket kecil milo
1 botol kecik serbuk koko
sedikit kacang yg telah digoreng tanpa minyak

Cara-cara
1. Cairkan mentega di dalam kuali.
2. Masukkan susu pekat dan kacau sehingga rata.
3. Masukkan milo dan serbuk koko dan kacau dgn rata.
4. Apabila sudah rata, masukkan biskut marie, kacang dan kismis ke dalamnya. Kacau dgn cepat sebelum campuran coklat tadi mengeras di dalam kuali. Gunakan api yg kecil saja.
5. Masukkan ke dalam bekas yg telah disapu sedikit mentega. Mampatkan kek ini dgn menggunakan plastik dan ditekan dgn tangan. Pastikan kek ini telah diratakan dgn sekata ke dalam bekas.
6. Sejukkan.
