Coincidence?

  Pagi ni hari yang kalut! I terus ke premis baru to check out the repair of the roof. Bumbung dah tak bocor tapi ada 1 ceiling lopong coz dah bertakung air quite some time. Ceiling tu dah melengkung.

Lepas check ceiling tu baru my staff bukak cerita. Last nite, at closing time ada sorang flasher datang kat our premis.  This staff ke counter nak serve that customer. Tetiba dia tunjuk his private part! Terus menggigil si A ni. Dia terus duduk konon2 nak ambik barang. Meanwhile, another staff , M tak sedar coz she was writing at the desk. Bila dipanggil si A baru le dia tahu what happened. They did't know what to do. Menggigil je kat situ. The flasher tu pulak, bila dah nampak diorang ni kat counter dia pegi tunggu dekat pintu & tenung je diorang. Si A recognised his face eventhough he was wearing full face helmet. Si A ni dah ready dgn gunting in case dia bertindak ganas!

After he was gone, diorang baru lari keluar. Tak sempat ambik his plate number. Masa ni pulak, diorang baru je off CCTV. So, tak de evidence la. The shops next door pun tak perasan coz roller shutter kitaorang dah tutup since the staff pun dah nak balik.

Tgh cerita pasal incidence tu, I got a call from K.Jun tanya ada orang nak repair paip bocor ke? I told her tak de & suruh dia kunci semua pintu2. Terus pecut balik rumah. Nasib le it was just 2 min away from tempat kerja. Sampai rumah je K.Jun dah gabra. Orang tu datang masa dia nak sidai kain. Tp dia baru bukak pintu nak keluar. That guy asked " Ni rumah * nama hubby*ke?  Dia suruh repair paip bocor." K.Jun pelik le coz I tak de pesan apa2 pun. She called me. Lepas I cakap tak de. K.Jun terus capai golok & instructed the guy to leave . Dia gelak je. Kebetulan hubby called ( I informed hubby ).Bila K.Jun cakap ni Dr ke? Terus the guy blah. Nasib le K.Jun sempat masuk rumah & kunci pintu.

Bila I sampai rumah je, the guy dah tak de. At the same time our friend pun sampai ( lepas hubby mintak tlg dia tgk2kan ). I pun informed our neighbour suruh tgk2 kan rumah. When this happened nasib le Baby Airis tengah tido & Adalia tengah mandi..

According to descriptions, both guys are in their 20s. Badan sedang2..Jangan le orang yang sama. Seriau je kalau org yang sama coz tau where we work & live. Siap sebut nama Hubby lagi.

A Good Deal in Disguise

 For the past few years, every Ramadhan we had this habit of buying some furnitures. Not that we were going to celebrate raya at home, tapi ntah kebetulan kut.. Seronok shopping bulan puasa. Lunch time was spent shopping..:-)

Recently Hubby decided to change our old sofa for the TV area. After browsing at some furniture outlets, we decided on the L-shaped sofa due to its size. We had to make a booking as it was not displayed at the showroom. Special order to fit our small area.

Last friday, we received our order together with a bookcase ordered from the same outlet. Sempat tengok sofa tu kejap je coz petang tu balik Jitra. Last nite baru I perasan there was something odd about the sofa. Sure enough, only the top part was leather. During our booking, we asked a few times what kind of material was the sofa.. They said all would be leather except for the back side which was PU. This side wasn't supposed to be noticeable.

Today, the manager kena tadah telinga le dengar I berleter. Memula tu diaorang bagi alasan the bottom part tu guna casa ( betul ke ejaan ni? ) leather, something like fake leather. Lagi le I mengamuk. When we said leather, we want cow leather as promised, not some fake leather. At last, they relented. They admitted their mistake. To compensate that, they took back the sofa & I'm getting full leather ( even the back side! ) at no additional cost. I'm getting around RM1K better deal..Credit goes to Ebenezer Furniture for their good customer service. The manager handled my complaints pretty well. Now I'm waiting for my new sofa..:-)

 I love murtabak but I hated the ones sold at our bazar ramadan. Penuh bawang lah, too sweet, too spicy..etc. So now I make my own murtabak albeit a mini one using kulit popiah. It's still a lot better..;-)

Mini Murtabak

Bahan-bahan:
Kulit popiah
1 cwn ayam, potong kecil
1 bawang besar, potong dadu
2 biji kentang, potong dadu
1 sk rempah kari ayam
1/2 sk serbuk lada hitam
1/2 sk pati ayam
garam secukup rasa
2 biji telur

Cara-cara:
1. Tumis bawang hingga layu. Masuk rempah and lada hitam hingga wangi.
2. Masukkan ayam, kentang dan sedikit air dan  biar hingga masak.
3. Tambahkan pati ayam dan garam.
4. Masukkan dalam mangkuk dan biar hingga sejuk.
5. Campurkan inti murtabak dengan telur.
6. Ceduk 2 sb inti ke atas kulit popiah. Lipat dan goreng hingga garing.

Home Renovation - Sessi Membebel

 Dapur kitaorang dah nak siap minus wiring, kitchen cabinet & grill. Yesterday dah pasang fly net ( boleh le dapat udara segar & sejuk waktu mlm without the mossies ) & wiring pun dah half-way. Orang nak buat kitchen cabinet pun dah datang ukur.

 Meanwhile, I dah boleh masak yang simple je. But it was worth it coz the princesses had been praising my cooking..:-). Jemu dah le tu makan lauk beli for nearly a month. Even Adik yang tak de appetite for the past few weeks pun makan bertambah. Hopefully boleh le dia gain weight. I tengok dah makin keding dah dia. The past month since kitaorang kena makan luar, Hubby dah lost weight by a few kilos. Lps ni gain weight la pulak.. Not that I masak sedap giler, Tp it's different between homecook food & beli kedai. Kadang2 tu goreng telur & sardin pun dah makan bertambah kalau kat rumah.

 Back to our home renovation, I perhatikan there was a vast difference between malay and chinese contractors. Bukan nak mengutuk ke apa. Tp bila kita yang keluarkan duit, of course le we want the best. With our house, the main building was done by malay contractors. Asyik kena ikut belakang je kerja. Nak kena remind everyday apa yang kita nak. Tu pun kdg2 termiss gak. Janji sebulan siap tp terlajak sampai 2 bulan. Tu pun tak siap semua coz we all dah malas nak suruh diaorang buat. Lambat sangat. The living room wing & kitchen patutnya selari. Tp diaorang ni ukur ke tak pun ntah le. Lari by a few inches. Hubby tgk mmg le sakit mata. Tp takkan le nak suruh roboh lak bcos of a few inches.

 Tiles, awning , rovers & grills kitaorang suruh chinese contractors. Workmanship mmg cantik & no problem. Bagitau sekali je, diorang dah tau. Hubby & I were impressed with the contractors who laid tiles. Very details. Utk lubang pun dia akan tebuk tile tu rather than potong. Kat sinki tu pulak dia bubuh tiles ikut lekuk sinki tu cantik je..Kerja pun tak messy. Lepas pasang tiles, they made sure the tiles were cleaned immediately. So, bila siap tak de kitaorang jenuh nak tenyeh stain kat tiles tu.

 Wiring pulak suruh malay contractors. Masuk rumah orang pakai kasut. Padahal rumah dah bersih dgn tiles dah. Comparing dgn contractors yang pasang tiles tu, diorang masuk rumah bukak kasut. So, nampak le malasnya malay contractors ni. Bila suruh tebuk dinding buat wiring, tak ikut. Pasang wire ikut luar. Kes malas. Padahal diorang boleh charge lebih. Lepas tu main panjat je kitchen cabinet tak beralas. Yang atas stove tu nasib I dah alas before I pegi kerja. Lps diorang habis kerja late evening ( yes, kerja mmg slow eventhough 4 org yg wat kerja ), rumah bersepah dgn serpihan simen & potongan wires. Kalau chinese contractors, they all siap sapu. Kita cuma mop je. Ni wiring belum habis lagi. Hari ni dah 2 hari tak datang pulak. Kalau chine contractors, they started work as early as 8am. Paling lambat pun 8.30am. Malay contractors, ikut suka time diorang le nak kerja. Workmanship halai-balai je..

 Tapi...tak semua malay contractors macam tu. Cuma a few yang my neighbours & I had the misfortune to hire. Nak cari yang tip top tu mmg susah.

Home Renovation

 Masuk hari ni dah 5 hari our contractors tak datang buat kerja. Grrrr. Cuaca dah elok tak nak guna. Nak call diaorang, hp diaorang dah kena curi masa rumah sewa diaorang kena pecah last week. Diorang pulak dah balik bercuti kat Alor Star. Dah la banyak lagi kerja terbengkalai.

 Initially, we only planned nak besarkan kitchen je.Tapi tu la. Home renovation ni berjangkit. Lepas extend the kitchen, hubby nak besarkan living room lak & ada a few additional areas that he wanted renovated. Semua plan rumah, dia yang buat. I tak masuk campur. Whatever he thougt okay, okay le pada I. Knowing him, dia ni mmg cerewet sikit. So, apa yang dia plan I rasa sesuai le tu. Normally well planned. Pernah masa kitaorang buat awning dulu, the contractor pasang frame masa kitaorang balik kampung time raya haji. Bila balik rumah, tgk2 frame dah jadi curve instead of the straight one that he wanted. Kena le the contractor tu bukak pulak frame tu..Nasib the contractor tak byk songeh. Lagipun salah diaorang gak coz tak ikut plan.

 The renovation started early march. Tapi last month asyik hujan je. So, tak boleh wat banyak kerja. Memula ingatkan 1 mth boleh siap. Ni dah masuk 2 bulan tak siap2 gak. Rimas I tgk. Memula tu mmg tak nak renovate lagi since Airis pun kecik lagi. Takut rumah berdebu. Nak pindah, tak kuasa I nak angkut brg2 dgn anak2 kecik. So, kitaorang suruh buat yang extended parts dulu. Nnt baru pecahkan dinding yg mana patut. Hopefully, boleh siap soon. I dah jenuh memikir nak kena pindah brg2 dapur nanti..Dgn rumah berabuk lagi nnt..And I also have to move my bookcase with lotsa books to the new area in the living room. Isk..isk.

Pengat Jagung Pisang Dulce De Leche

( Nama je glamour cos I pakai DDL instead of sugar,,:-). Rasa le caramel dia tu. The princesses pulun je bila I cakap masuk DDL. Alysa siap puji sedap.." pandai mama masak". hehehe..padahal sonang je nak wat! )
