Tasty Mince Meat And Peas With Rice

Esok nak balik Johor untuk sambut Ramadhan since raya this year turn kat Kedah..:-) So. fridge mmg kosong especially barang basah. Nak beli lunch kat kedai, alamatnya lambat le the princesses would have their lunch, since I selalu balik lambat sikit on Monday. So, I made do with minced meat.
 Tercari-cari minced meat rice, at last jumpa le this one which is very similar to the one I had kat hostel dulu. Sedap mak cik2 dapur masak. Masa kat hostel dulu makan dengan dalca. Tapi ni I buat makan dgn fried mushroom & celery. Sedap. Angkat bakul le pulak..:D. Resepi ni memang simple.

Ingredients

2 cup long grain rice
3 tablespoon ghee
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
6 whole cloves ( I used 2 cloves, 2 cardamom , kulit kayu manis )
250 gm minced lamb or beef
2 cup green peas ( I used mixed vege + cashew)
4 cup hot water ( I added 1/2 cup milk )
3 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garam masala ( I used beef curry powder )

Directions:

1. Wash rice and leave to drain.
2. Heat ghee in a large saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Fry the cumin with the onion, garlic, ginger and cloves until onion is soft and golden brown.
3. Add the mince and fry over moderately high heat until the mince is browned.
4. Add peas and half cup water, stir well, cover and cook until peas are half done.
5. Add rice and hot water and stir in the salt.
6. Bring quickly to the boil, cover, turn heat very low and cook for 10 minutes.
7. Uncover and sprinkle with garam masala but do not stir. Replace lid and continue cooking for a further 10 minutes or until liquid is all absorbed and rice is cooked through. Serve hot.

Note: I tumis bahan2 & added all the ingredients. Lepas tu masak dalam rice cooker. Tambah daun pandan. Senang kerja..:-)

 Ni pulak nak tayang dessert I wat masa Hafiz's 5th bday. Saje terlebih rajin wat banyak layer. Resepi kat sini.
