A visit from dear friends

Last nite we had a visit from my ex-housemate at Terrace Road, Perth, Fina & her hubby Andy. It's been 13 years since we last met. Punya le lama! Got to know she's in Penang thru FB. Good thing that we have FB these days..:-) They're on holiday + mc after Andy had an operation recently. They are off to Riyadh where they're residing in a few weeks time. It's soo good to see them again after all these years. It was like the good old days last nite. The same animated conversation & lotsa laughs..Guys, hope to see u all again in the future..may be in Johor or Riyadh..:)

Ni baru nak post recipe of the yummy ( angkat bakul lak..haha..) Blueberry Cheese Cake that i made for Baby's birthday. Memang tak rugi cuba. Got the recipe from the famous k.ummi. Thanks k.Ummi..Here's the recipe:

Blueberry Cheese Cake

Bahan base:

240gm biskut coklat marie, hancurkan

140gm mentega, cairkan

2 sudu besar gula castor

Gaul sebati serbuk biskut dengan gula kastor dan butter. Ratakan dan tekan dalam springfoam, biar padat. sejukkan dalam fridge.

Bahan Filling:
300 gm cream cheese
2 sudu besar jus lemon
2 sudu besar serbuk gelatin
1/2 cawan air panas
500 ml whipping cream
2/3 cawan gula
topping - filling blueberry

Pukul whipping cream dengan mixer pada kelajuan tinggi hingga kental. Ketepikan.
Campurkan serbuk gelatin bersama air panas kacau hingga benar2 larut. Ketepikan.
Dalam bekas lain, pukul cream cheese, gula dan jus lemon hingga sebati. Kemudian masukkan larutan gelatin. Pukul lagi. Masukkan whipping cream tadi, kacau hingga sebati dan rata. Tuang ke atas bahan dasar. Sejukkan dalam fridge semalaman. Sapukan blueberry filling.

Adalia's Birthday @ Bukit Merah Lake Town

As planned , last saturday we went to BMLR for Baby's birthday.There were 6 families who turned up. Tapi rasanya silap timing la pulak! The MARA officers from all over Malaysia were having a family day there at the same time. So, nak check- in pun lambat, nak cari parking pun susah. We managed to get our rooms at 4.30pm. Petang malas nak beraktiviti. Lepak2 je.. Nak ke swiming pool pun hujan! Nak ke resort pun dah selalu sangat ke sana, it's the same old stuff.. layan jelah the princesses kat bilik..

That nite around 8pm we gathered at our room for Baby's birthday. Just a simple get together. Food pulak..pot luck. I made the birthday cake of course.. & tuna pasta ( Alysa's fav which she finished 3 bowls that nite ). As a host, we prepared the plates, junk food & fruit. We have plenty of food. Ila brought meehoon goreng; K.Jun brought pulut kuning, chicken curry & agar2. Mak pulak bawak ketupat, rendang daging & pulut bata. Mak Yang bawak mee goreng. Mak Kechik brought ketupat pulut hitam, serunding ikan bilis , nasi & lauk kenduri. Food banyak tak habis..Yang habis my Bluberry Cheese Cake..:-) Semua terkam cake dulu.. Makan dessert dulu baru makan main dish. Tu yang food byk tak habis.. Thanks to all yang sanggup datang memeriahkan majlis my sweet little princess.

The next day, pagi2 lagi semua dah ke swimming pool for mandi-manda..Alysa memula tanak mandi. Ada sikit2 phobia dia tu. By 10.30am lepas pujuk2 baru dia nak mandi. Tupun tak mau pakai baju. Nak pakai underwear je..Dah le bulat..:D. ( Hubby tak suka le anak dia sexy ni, so lps ni kena le beli swim suit! ) Lepas dah syok mandi & hilang phobia dia tu, tak nak naik le pulak. Sampai 12pm baru keluar swimming pool..

Tepuk Amai Amai

Tomorrow is my cheeky Baby's 1st birthday. We're not gonna celebrate tomorrow but the day after at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort. So, we've booked enough rooms for everybody who's confirmed to go.

Unlike Alysa's & Ayra's 1st birthday, this is gonna be a low-keyed celebration. But hopefully a memorable one. Not to her of course but to us..:D. I haven't decided on the menu yet. May be just light & easy as it's supposed to be for dinner. As for cake, i decided to make blueberry cheesecake a requeast by hubby ( teringat2 K.Ana's blueberry cheesecake..yumyum..) for the event & kalau rajin may be another pound cake. So, we'll see what is it gonna be..Hmm..

Nearing her 1st birthday Baby has turned so cheeky. She has learned so many new stuff eg when we sang 'tepuk amai-amai', she'd immediately clap her hands merrily while babbling her current fav " ta...ta..ta..ta..". When she got her tiny hands on a whistle, she'd put it in her mouth & tried to whistle. Of course not the sound of the whistle that we hear, but the sound of her voice mimicking the whistle's sound. She definitely couldn't see a handphone, or else we'll see her put it to her ear as in conversation. Another of her actic is she'd put a hijab on her head if she could find one. There are so many things that she learned in these short months which are amazing. But, of course she still cannot walk yet..Well, may be after her 1st birthday..:-)

A couple days ago we got very nice & yummy cheese cakes from K.Ana. Not 1 but 3! All were delicious. Alysa loved the one with swirl on top. Hubby & I loved the blueberry cheese cake. So soft & melt in your mouth type. TQ so much K.Ana.. Sesapa kat North ni berminat nak belajar nak buat cakes & cake decorating, silalah ke sini. Ni sneak preview of what you'll learn in her classes..

Watermelon Farm & Fishermen's Village

" Mama, wake up! it's morning. Let's have breakfast. I'm sooo hungry". I was awakened by Alysa. Well, it's her normal lines if she wanted to wake me up. Gosh! It was after 10am already & we were supposed to meet the others to go a watermelon's farm at 10am. We were having jamuan raya at Masjid AtTaqwa that nite & someone wanted to donate his first harvest for the jamuan raya.

So, after getting the princesses ready & giving them breakfast of egg sandwiches, we headed for Titi Hayun, Yan, Kedah where the watermelon farm was situated at 11.30am. We arrived there at nearly 12.30pm. It was a nice weather. We tasted the sweet & juicy watermelon & were given one to be brought home. Later, we wanted to have a picnic at Titi Hayun waterfall but couldn't find a parking spot. So, we decided on going to Tanjung Dawai instead. To Kedahans, Tanjung Dawai is well known as a Fishermen's village. But, we've never been there..:(

We had lunch in Tanjung Dawai..and it was soo cheap. Imagine kuey teow kerang with more kerang than kuey teow ( exaggerate le pulak hehe..) is only RM2. A big bowl of bihun sup with heaps of chicken is only RM2.50. We ordered 2 bowls of bihun sup, 2 plate of kuey teow, 2 bowls of ABC & air asam..all these cost us only RM13. Murah kan? The best thing was that we got to enjoy the nice seaview & cooling breeze. Baby slept throughout our lunch enjoying the original 'air-cond'. May be some day we'd come again in the evening to try ikan bakar at Medan ikan Bakar.

After lunch, we went to the fishermen's village. We also went to the jetty, but all the fresh fish that was just brought up was sold out. We stopped to buy belacan ( we rarely used belacan at home except when mak came over ), anchovies & a few packets of dried fish. We later stopped at Sg Merbok Jetty not far from Sg Petani. Just enjoying the nice view there.

Keletihan after a long day..

On the way home, we didn't miss the opportunity to buy fresh seafood sold just accross the road from the jetty. Ketam nipah was only btw RM8 to RM14 per kg depending on sizes. Giant Clams ( I tak tau nama dia actually :D) was only RM2 per kg. Lala & Kepah was sold at RM4 per kg or RM10 for 3kg. So for the next few days we'd be feasting on seafood la..yumyum..

Baby 3x tido during the travelling..

Last nite we had jamuan raya ( yes, again..) at masjid attaqwa. Punya la ramainya orang! More than a thousand ( betul ke ni?) people turned up. Alysa closed the nite by wailing at the top of her lungs bcos she didn't get an icecream that was being distributed. Malunya.. Luckily someone gave it to her while we were pulling her to the car to buy 1 for her :-). Masa tu Adik dapat ice cream but Alysa didn't coz dah habis & Adik didn't want to share hers ( Ni mood tak nak share le ni.)

Cheeky Baby & The Missing Two

Baby would have trouble sleeping at nite if she took a nap after asar. Yesterday, in order to prevent her from taking her routine nap, I took her out. While chatting with K.Liza, our next door neighbour, tup2 tgk Baby dozed off. Sigh.. Another late nite for her! Sure enough, last nite she had trouble sleeping. Since last nite only Adik got home, we let her sleep with Baby. But the problem was, Baby was pestering us. She crawled all over the bedroom & over Adik. Tried putting her in bed, she tried to climb down. So we solved the problem by putting Adik in bed, and let Baby slept on the floor ( on the mattress of course !). I didn't realise what time she finally went to sleep coz by the time i dozed off she was still merrily playing with some tissues or something.

Cheeky Baby..

On another issue, it's a routine now that Alysa & Adik would follow Cik Jun to her house every afternoon. Previously only Adik would follow Cik Jun & spend the nite there. But since last week Alysa started to follow suit after months of not going there. A few months ago, she stopped from going there after Along ( K.Jun's eldest son ) got home for a long break. Malu la kononnya. Hai anak dara mama sorang ni..:-). But since she started going there again last week, dia pulak yang tak nak balik. 2-2 nak tido kat sana. Yang kesian Baby la..mati kutu main sorang2. And the house was so quiet without their squabbles, shouts, whines etc. Sigh.. Of course la i pun sampai nak masuk bathroom pun tak boleh coz dia melalak kena tinggal sorang2..Kena tunggu Hubby balik baru boleh mandi..:-) Kena gilir temankan dia.haha..

While those 2 princesses spent the nite at Cik Jun's, I managed to bake Brownies. Tgk kat dapur Sheri nampak yummy je. So i got the recipe from Jamie Oliver. Very nice & chocolatey..Lama dah tak buat desserts ni. Mood masak tu macm malas ja. For lunch pn masak sempoi je..

Bloomin' Brilliant Brownies

Ingredients

• 250g unsalted butter

• 200g dark Fairtrade chocolate (70% cocoa solids), broken up

• optional: 75g dried sour cherries

• optional: 50g chopped nuts

• 80g cocoa powder, sifted

• 65g plain flour, sifted

• 1 teaspoon baking powder

• 360g caster sugar ; I used half castor sugar & half brown sugar

• 4 large free-range or organic eggs

• optional: zest of 1 orange

• optional: 250ml crème fraîche

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F/gas 4. Line a 25cm square baking tin with greaseproof paper. In a large bowl over some simmering water, melt the butter and the chocolate and mix until smooth. Add the cherries and nuts, if you’re using them, and stir together. In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder and sugar, then add this to the chocolate, cherry and nut mixture. Stir together well. Beat the eggs and mix in until you have a silky consistency.

Pour your brownie mix into the baking tray, and place in the oven for around 25 minutes. You don’t want to overcook them so, unlike cakes, you don’t want a skewer to come out all clean. The brownies should be slightly springy on the outside but still gooey in the middle. Allow to cool in the tray, then carefully transfer to a large chopping board and cut into chunky squares. These make a fantastic dessert served with a dollop of crème fraîche mixed with some orange zest.

Picnic @ Pantai Bersih

It's been a week since i last wrote in this blog. Everyday mengadap laptop but bz with other stuff. Yelah, since new product launching, sibuk la pulak nak promote, taking orders, contacting & dealing with wholesalers & distributors. Thanks to all friends who gave tremendous supports in terms of purchasing IdealSlim & giving testimonials, promoting to their friends, & selling it. Ada kawan2 kat Aussie & UK pun tolong beli sama. I really appreciate all your supports especially the ex-stfians, AUSMAT group, xperthgroup, & of course to geng2 pharmacists.

Our weekends were normally spent at shopping complexes. How boring! So, this week we decided to have a picnic somewhere. Kat Malaysia ni bukannya banyak nice picnic spots. Kalau ada, berpusu2 orang kat situ. We picked Pantai Bersih as it was convenient. Tapi nak ke situ kena bayar tol lagi. Pathetic kan? Yelah coz the best area is at R&R. We brought mihun goreng, leftover from our lunch & barang2 dapat hamper from the previous nite's jamuan raya. The weather was nice. The princesses love it. But only Adik took a walk along the beach with me. Alysa, melekat je kat our picnic spot watching people flying kites. Baby kitaorang biar je kat dlm stroller since she was in a good mood. Nanti kalau angkat dia, buat hal lak.. After solat maghrib, kat R & R tu, we went to have dinner at McD. But everyone was so full, we ended up tapau je..

Enjoying the nice weather..

On Saturday nite, we had jamuan raya kat our dewan komuniti untuk residents kat my area. My residential area ni mmg ramai yang aktif organise this kind of thing. Semua sekepala je. We had sate, mee kari, tapai, ketupat, lemang, rendang, fruits, kuih raya etc. We also have lucky draws. Since hubby jadi pengerusi persatuan penduduk, dia pun kena le cabut hadiah. Tgk2 cabut nama sendiri, haha.. Tapi hadiah memang byk pun coz ramai sponsors. Petang tu kitaorang pegi cari hadiah gak to contribute. Actually, nak cari present to our friend's parents' 40th anniversary. Diaorang buat surprise party for the parents after asar. Since dah tgh shopping beli sekali le hadiah untuk lucky draws. Kalut gak sampai tak sempat untuk tolong persiapan jamuan raya..

For lucky draw, I'm sure Alysa was the happiest. She's been pestering us to buy maggie monster but we forgot about it. Tup2 Papa dia dapat hamper siap ada maggie monster lagi.. Happy le dia coz now not only she got 1 small pack but a big pack!
