Her First Ward Experience

 Last Friday, when Baby Airis didn't seem to improve and her respiratory rate was around 60, we decided to send her to the hospital. Again, she was requested to do the x-ray. Since this was the 3rd doctor who requested her to do the chest x-ray, we relented.

 She was found to have acute bronchiolitis and had to be admitted. Tapi lepas kena neb + O2 kat casualty, she seemed to improve. Masa kat ward tu pun she looked okay. Kitaorang pun actually nak bawak dia balik, tapi the paed suruh stay a day or two to observe. Since case dia macam teruk gak, she was warded in acute ward. I lak yang stress & couldn't sleep the whole nite. Dah le dok dengar bebudak melalak & merengek. Airis pulak kira okay gak coz tak de le meragam sangat except at one time around 2-3am where she cried non-stop. Tapi lepas pujuk2 tidur balik. She was also on 2 hourly neb & given IV antibiotic.

 The next day, dia dah asyik muntah je lepas feeding. So, by petang kena drip la pulak. Jarum yang previous day tu dia tarik sampai tercabut, so kena cucuk the other hand. Tapi lepas maghrib dah dapat transfer ke single room. Lega I...Mmg everytime paed check je, I mintak discharge..:-)

 Ahad tu still tak boleh discharge sbb dia dah start demam. Asyik kena supp je sbb dia asyik muntak so tak bagi orally. Alhamdulillah, by this time diorang dah off drip dia. Neb pun dah 4 hourly je. Tamiflu still kena amik. By monday, her fever subsided. The paed still nak observed dia another day. On Tuesday morning, again dia cabut branulae sendiri. I sedar2 je tgk2 dah tergantung & ada bleeding sikt. So, kena le bagi antibiotic orally which was soo difficult. Kena control takut dia melalak & muntah. Lepas paed buat round that late afternoon, yeay..dah boleh discharged. We arrived home at 8.30pm. Alhamdulillah.

  Now, she is recovering well. Badan still ringan. She lost her chubbiness. Pipi dah kempis. Still have a few doses of antibiotic to go. She's the first in the family being warded. Tulah, rumah kitaorang dah berabuk for a few months becoz of the renovation. Then the smell of paints.. Tapi dia kira okay le jugak boleh tolerate a few months of dusts. Sebelum ni kalau the other princesses demam or selsema, dia jarang berjangkit. This time le paling teruk..

Early Morning Visit to the Hospital & Tiramisu

 Last nite while putting Baby Airis to sleep, I heard her wheezing. She had runny nose for the past few days & started coughing yesterday. Initially, we thought it was just phlegm. She looked comfortable enough. But, when Hubby checked her lungs, there was a slight wheezing. So, at 1 am, off they went to the hospital. I stayed home with the other princesses.

 After a round of neb, they came home at 2am. Hubby said the doctor wanted to do chest x-ray, but he refused. Well, she's only 6 m.o. & just started coughing yesterday. I think it won't change the management with the x-ray findings.

 Since this is the first case of astmatic attack in the family, we never kept a nebulizer. Previously, with the elder princesses, when they started having runny nose, we just gave them a minimum dose of antihistamine. But, now there was a new regulation not to give kids below 2 y.o any antihistamine for cough & cold cases. So, konon2nya nak ikutlah the new findings. Tp for me, like any medication, if the benefits outweigh the side effects, I'd rather choose to give.
 
 An update: Tadi hubby balik je from the clinic bagitau Baby Airis kena pneumonia. Ala..cian my baby.  Tapi dia tak de lak fever. So, we started her on syr zithromax. Tu pun after consulting the paed. Mlm ni nampak dia happy sikit. Dah nampak nak senyum. Kalau tak, siang tadi buat muka sedih je. Lagi satu tak leh bagi dia stress. Nnt dia start wheezing lak.

Tiramisu

 

 I made this masa our family day baru-baru ni. Easy to prepare. Kejap je habis. This is an eggless recipe by umi e. I  know the classic tiramisu recipe has eggs. Tp tak kuasa nak makan telur mentah..

Bahan-bahan 

• 2 bungkus biskut tiramisu/sponge fingers
• 250g cream cheese
• 250g whipping cream
• 150g gula (boleh kurang atau tambah ikut suka manis)
• satu cawan bancuhan air nescafe (tanpa gula)
• serbok kok/cokolat utk hiasan

Cara-cara

1. satukan cream cheese+whipping cream+gula dan pukul hingga kembang
2. Celupkan biskut ke dalam bancuhan nescafe dan susun dalam bekas sederhana besar
3. Setelah itu letakkan satu lapisan bancuhan yang telah dipukul tadi ke atas biskut dengan rata. Ulang proses ini sehingga menjadi tiga lapisan. 
4. Bila semua bancuhan telah habis dan bahagian atas disapu rata, bolehlah ditutup dan disimpan dalam peti ais. Hias kan dengan taburan koko/cokolat di atasnya ikut suka.

Family Day @ Batu Ferringhi

 Family Day kali ni kitaorang wat kat Batu Ferringhi. Memula tu tercari2 resort kat area kedah. Tapi fully booked sebab last minute booking. Our booking kat Teluk Nipah pun cancelled sebab majoriti dah boring kat situ. Finally we decided to go to Batu Ferringhi.

 Masa tengah tercari2 tempat yang kosong ( a week before check-in & on school holidays! ), kitaorang ingat nak duduk kat Sri Sayang serviced apt. Kat situ dekat dengan Ferringhi night market. Tapi fully booked la pulak. At last masa I masuk booking.com tgk kat Bayu Emas ada 5 apts yang kosong. We needed 4 apts. So, with 20 adults and 11 kids, we checked in at Bayu Emas on Friday 10th June. Kat sini ada apt yang 2 & 3 bilik with complete furnishing. Nak masak pun boleh.

 Tempat ni okay le for big family gathering. Ada swimming pool & dekat dengan Ferringhi night market. Gerai makan pun just outside the gate. Tapi kalau nak comfort, baik check in kat hotel yang berderet2 di Bt Ferringhi. Tp in our case, dah last minute booking, tempat ni served the purpose.

 As usual untuk food, kitaorang buat potluck. Mak yang bawak byk food. Ada nasi & lauk-pauk , ketupat ( ni tak pernah miss ) & masak anga. I made pizza & tiramisu. Abang & family were last to check-in.

 Actually, for mini family day, I prefer tempat yang aa BBQ coz sambil bakar2 boleh borak2 like we had in Teluk Bahang & Teluk Nipah. Normally lepak berborak sampai pukul 1 pg. Kat Bayu Emas ni berkumpul kat mak's apt je lah. But after we went to Ferringhi night market, balik tu lepak makan airkrim kat my apt.
