Cuti-Cuti Medan : Simarjarunjung- Sipiso-piso - Brastagi

Day 3

 After lunch, we headed to Brastagi. On the way, we all singgah pekena goreng pisang kat Simarjarunjung. Memang cantik tempat ni tapi sejuk.. Nasib I ada beli sweater. Hubby control macho coz x bawak jacket :-) This cafe is actually famous for teh halia. Tapi tak de la I nak order teh. I & Liza order milo panas. Ketagih oo dah 3 hari tak pekena milo...hehe.. Hubby & Sumai order kopi panas. We got goreng pisang as complimentary. From the cafe we could see magnificent view.

Simarjarunjung

 Dah rasa panas dengan milo & kopi, Pak Leni drove us to Sipiso-piso waterfall. Another must visit place. Sampai sini je, mak aii..sejukkknye. Masa ni Hubby dah tak larat control macho...kiki..Terus beli jacket. Murah giler!! IDR60K je. Tupun lepas tawar ala kadar. Kat sini diorang tak letak harga gila2 macam kat Tomok Village. Kalau nak tawar pun sekadar IDR10K je. Masa dia letak harga IDR70K tu Hubby terus nak beli. . Dah murah tu kan.. I le sesaja tawar IDR60K. Dapat lak. Sweater yang I beli tu kat sini boleh dapat less 50% lagi..huwaa..

 Masa kat Sipiso-piso ni hujan gerimis. Tak kiralah..tetap nak ambik photos. Dah gigil-gigil kat sini, kami meneruskan perjalanan yang masih jauh ke Brastagi. Sepanjang perjalanan ni ladang buah & sayur kat kiri kanan jalan. Buah limau punyalah banyak tapi bukan yang jenis manis. Sampai Brastagi dah malam. Kereta kuda pun dah tutup kedai..:-) We all ke pasar buah je & makan jagung bakar. Manis.. We bought Avocado, IDR15K sekilo & Strawberry IDR10K per pack. Murah..

 Then, naik kereta lagi.. Jalan berbengkang-bengkok macam ular kena palu. Nasib I tak muntah. Dah la jalan sesak teruk. Sampaikan at 1 point, kitaorang singgah pekena durian. Alasan je tu. Actually, memang nak makan durian medan pun. Tengah musim durian pulak. Price from IDR 8-10K sebiji. Seller tu siap tanya nak yang manis ke pahit? Of course le I nak yang manis!!

 After a looong day, we safely reached Grand Antares hotel, Medan at 10pm. After check-in, dinner dulu. Fuyoo..Dinner at 10pm ( 11pm malaysian time! ). Memang kebuluran.. Nasib dah alas perut dengan biskut & durian. Actually, Pak Leni offered to stop for dinner in Brastagi at 8pm. Tapi since dengar restoran tu chinese punya, tak mau la we all.
 Lepas dinner dah 11pm. Dapat bilik with king-sized bed. Nice hotel. I prefer this hotel from Madani Syariah. Both kat jalan yang sama cuma Madani ni furnishing macam lama sikit.

Cuti-Cuti Medan : Perapat - Samosir Island

 Day 2 


 After lunch at Ayam Pop, we headed to Perapat through Permatang Siantar. Jalan macet le pulak coz ada perjumpaan apa ntah. Pak Leni ni bawak kereta ganas gak. Dia cilok lane kiri lalu kat lopak2. Ada at 1 time sampai melambung kitaorang. Nasib naik SUV. Kalau naik kereta maunya tersangkut kereta tu.

 Pemandangan biasa je. Tak de la menarik. Dari Medan nak ke Perapat tu dalam 180km je. Tapi it took us over 6 hours to get there. Dah le hujan. The car was crawling at 20km/h. Kitaorang singgah kat Patent shop yang jual jajan named Teng Teng, Ting Ting etc.  Pelik nama dia. Siap bagi samples lagi. Tapi bila tengok owner tu non-muslim & product pulak tak de logo halal, malas nak merasa. We all lepak2 je sementara tunggu Pak Leni stretching & rehat.

Ni le Patent shop tu. Pandai owner dia buat business. Almost all tour groups would stop here on the way to Perapat.

 Masa lalu kat Permatang Siantar, Pak Leni pointed out to one bakery. Full house! Nama kedai tu Toko Ganda. Teringin nak merasa tapi masa tak mengizinkan. Jenuh queue looking at the number of customers. Nak tau le apa yang sedap sangat tu.. Tapi Pak Leni kata memang sedap.Freshly baked.

 By the time sampai Perapat, Sara dah a few times muntah & demam. We stopped by at a pharmacy. Cari syr pcm for her. Then, dinner kat hotel je. Ada sup ayam panas2 lagi. Elok le dengan cuaca yang sejuk.Ada la dalam 5-6 jenis lauk. We were booked at Siantar Hotel. Hotel ni biasa je. Betul2 tepi Lake toba. Buka tingkap je ada tasik kat bawah. Kat sini memang sejuk sangat. Tak payah pasang air-cond. Lepas dinner masuk bilik je terus zzz.. It was a loong day..

Day 3 

 We had breakfast at 7;30am. Ala-carte. Malam tu dah siap order. Hubby order nasi goreng. Sedap gak. I tak  order nasi coz takut pedas, I ambik roti with egg je. Kenyang gak.

 Lepas check-out we all ke jetty. Ambik ferry  ke Samosir Island which took 45 min. First we stopped by at Ambarita village. Perkampungan orang Batak.  Our tour guide siap buat demo penggal kepala . Kat sini latempat the famous King Siallagan. Lepas demo, we had 1/2 hour to shop. Macam kartun je..We bought a few stuff.

 Then, naik ferry lagi ke Tomok village.Kat sini ada kubur King Sidabutar. Shopping kat sini lagi better dari Ambarita village. Peniaga tak le main tarik2 tangan. Harga kena tawar gila2. Tapi dalam dok tawar tu I terkena gak. Sweater yang I beli lagi mahal dari yang kat Sipiso piso waterfall. :-( As a consolation, nasib tak de colour yang I beli tu kat Sipiso piso..

 Dah penat shopping kat Tomok village, we had lunch kat Restoran Istana Minang, Perapat. Ada serve ikan kecik2 yang banyak kat Lake Toba tu. Sedap gak.

Cuti-cuti Medan - Part I

Day 1

 For this holiday, After surveying ground packages & car rental + driver, I think it was much simpler to get a ground package. In a way, I think it is cheaper. One of the reasons, kat Medan ni kalau tourist je memang nak kena 'sembelih' le kalau makan. From what I heard, lunch at nasi padang would cost at least RM80-90 for 4 pax. With the gound package, lunch & dinner were inclusive. Tak payah nak sibuk-sibuk cari tempat makan. Since kitaorang sampai dah malam we only took a 3D2N package. The 1st night I book our rooms at Madani Syariah hotel through Agoda.com.

This time there were a few good & bad things in store for us. To start of our holiday, we were treated for lunch by a stranger at Penang International Airport. Actually, bukan sebab kehenseman muka Hubby..:-) tapi sebab that Singaporean ada free McD voucher. So, dia belanja le Hubby.

 Then, our flight was delayed for nearly 2 hours due to bad weather in Medan. So, bila sampai je Medan at 6pm, tak de le our airport transfer from Madani Syariah hotel nak tunggu kan..since dah 2 jam lambat. Terpaksa call hotel a few times baru diorang hantar airport transfer. By the time sampai hotel & check-in, dah 9pm. Dinner kat food court belakang hotel tu je. Food biasa-biasa je except for sate padang. Sedap. Lepas dinner dah 10pm ( 11 pm Malaysia time ). Nak pegi Yuki Complex seberang jalan hotel tu dah tutup. Nak ronda-ronda Medan semua dah penat. Sara pun dah tertido. So, we settled in for the night. Tomorrow would be another long day.

At Madani Syariah hotel. Bersanding before masuk bilik hehe.. Furniture kat sini ala2 macm ni la..

Sate Padang - served with nasi himpit. Kuah kacang dicampur dengan sambal kicap cili padi. Yummy!

Day 2 

 We requested for the tour guide to pick us at 8 am. After breakfast at the hotel, ( food selection tak menarik sangat for my taste ) we were greeted by Pak Ahmad Leni from Lovely Holidays. Actually, I booked the ground package through High Point Travel kat Malaysia. Nasib we all memang baik.. Instead of Toyota Innova , we got Toyota Fortuner. Reason; Innova dah full. So, they had to use their boss' car..:-) Kalau ikut rate memang berbeza . According to Pak Leni rental untuk Innova is IDR600K ( RM200 ) sehari. Fortuner pulak IDR 1.5 million ( RM500 ) sehari. Masa kat Malaysia I dah cakap kat Hubby, I nak duduk depan kalau naik innova coz takut pening2 lalat on the way to Perapat. Bila tengok dapat Fortuner, tak jadi lah duduk depan..;-)

 Pagi tu Pak Leni bawak pusing2 Medan dulu. Kitaorang ke Istana Maimun. Tapi tak boleh masuk sebab ada persidangan raja2. Then ke Kedai Batik. Baju kebaya sulam memang cantik2 kat sini. Telekung pun banyak. Kebaya sulam kat sini kain dia tak payah lining dah. Masa ni tak beli apa pun. I datang pulak on the last day to buy kebaya,,;-)

 Then, kitaorang ke Pasar Ikan ( Pajak Ikan ). Bukan nak beli ikan ye.. Tapi membeli telekung & baju2. Masa nak ke Medan I memang tak plan nak shopping coz dengarnya kat Medan lagi mahal dari Bandung & Jakarta. Masa ke Bandung & Jakarta dah puas beli telekung for me & as souvenirs. So, kali ni I beli telekung kat I je. Telekung budak2 lagi mahal dari dewasa. IDR 180K. Liza pulak yang memborong banyak. Barang2 kat sini tak menarik perhatian I sangat.

 Lepas penat window shopping, we had lunch at Ayam Pop. Nasi Padang. So, makanan penuh meja.

So, that's it ronda-ronda Medan. Next we went to Perapat, Samosir Island & Brastagi. Tapi yang sedih, my camera's memory card corrupt pulak. So, banyak pics yang rosak.. Huwaa..
