Sambutan Raya 2011

 Raya this year turn Johor, tapi nyaris2 raya kat Kedah dulu cos Baby Airis tak sihat. A few days before raya she started having runny nose. We planned to go back to Batu Pahat on monday, a day before raya. Tapi pagi tu nampak dia dah nak start wheezing. Hubby suggested kitaorang raya Kedah dulu, then on 2nd raya balik Johor.

  Barang2 dah prepare untuk raya kat Johor...Lepas tu klau raya kat Kedah dulu, 2nd day dah kena balik Johor. So, I tak nak la coz mcm tak puas raya Kedah sehari je. Then, we would miss the open houses held by relatives in Kedah which started on 4th raya. So, tawakkal je la balik Johor lepas bagi Baby Airis syr ventolin. Alhamdulillah, she was ok during the journey. The weather was ok too. Jalan pun lengang je except for heavy traffic kat Seremban as usual.

By the way, masa dah bertolak baru sedar Baby Adalia terlupa bawak kasut baru. Dia pegi sarung kasut buruk Ayra. Sampai je Sri Medan at 9 pm, we stopped by to buy her new shoes. Nasib le kedai bukak lagi. Kalau tak, beraya le dengan kasut buruk tu,,:-)

Day 1: Lepas solat raya, buat doa selamat as usual  kat rumah. Then, sesi bergambar & makan2. After makan ketupat & the dishes prepared by mak & Kaseh, kitaorang beraya ke Sri Menanti. Balik tu baru beraya kat sedara2 dekat2 rumah mak.

Day 2: Beraya kat rumah2 sedara yang tak de kat rumah on day 1. Lepas tu tunggu je kat rumah coz diorang dah start barak hari ni.

Day 3: Yeay..Balik Kedah. Plan awal nak singgah rumah kawan Hubby kat Bangi. Tapi dia belum balik dari Kg. We ended up kat Melaka rumah atuk Ain. Cantik rumah atuk Ain. Bestnya dapat jumpa my "ner" ni after 21 years tak jumpa. Masih maintain je macam dulu2. Dapat le jumpa hero2 dia. Siap dapat bawak bekal wajik durian & asam keping homemade. Thanks Ain di atas layanan hari tu. Panjang umur jumpa lagi..

Day 4: Hari ni dah start open house. Kitaorang ke rumah mak chaq, tok lang, mak chum, pak kechik, Ngah, Pak Su , Bang Lan & Mak Yang. Berjalan sampai 12.30am. Balik tu mmg letih sungguh. Nasib the princessess tak buat perangai. The food served mmg marvellous. Seronok dapat jumpa sedara mara.

Day 5: Ada lagi open house kat rumah Ila & kay'en. Nasi dagang & Soto indon. Rajin betul Ila buat open house dgn tgh preggie. Hari tu buat majlis berbuka. Nak dapat Baby girl kut..;-). Balik rumah Ila terus balik Penang.

Day 6: Open house cum aqiqah kat rumah taniza. Roasted lamb marinated by chef kat hotel kat SP. Alysa pulun lamb tu rasanya ada le 3 pinggan. Suka betul dia..

Open house kat taman ni belum start lagi coz mostly beraya kat kg. Rayanya akan start soon. Rasanya belum terlambat nak ucap " SELAMAT HARI RAYA, MAAF ZAHIR BATIN. "

Ex-Perth Get-together

Last Saturday as planned, a few ex-Perth & their families who are residing in Kedah & Penang gathered at our house. The plan was to start at 3pm but the earliest to come were Sumai & Liza at around 4pm. Then Efi & Adib came. Buyung called to inform he couldn't make it as he had to go back to Alor Star. K.Hani said she'd come a bit later coz she had to attend to patients but at last didn't come. Busy le tu.. Rosdi finally came as we finished eating.

Food was aplenty. Masing2 bawak food macam le ramai yang nak makan. Ros bawak puding & sausage rolls sampai penuh a big bag enough to feed 50 people! Liza bawak spagheti siap dgn spagheti sauce in a big pot..Adib bawak popia made by everyone in her household. After everyone finished eating, there was still plenty of food. So, everyone dapat tapau all the food. The kids sibuk main sampai tak makan sesangat. Dapat chocolate was enough for them. Berebut2 nak tgk DVD & astro. But they got along well.

This get-together was a start for many more future meets. Since our house was near the highway & convenient for everyone to come, we volunteered for this meet. Lagipun semua dah pernah datang ke rumah we all so tak le susah2 nak cari rumah. It was great meeting everyone here. Hope to do it again in the future...perhaps kat orang masuk rumah baru.. Sumai? or Rosdi?:D

A visit from dear friends

Last nite we had a visit from my ex-housemate at Terrace Road, Perth, Fina & her hubby Andy. It's been 13 years since we last met. Punya le lama! Got to know she's in Penang thru FB. Good thing that we have FB these days..:-) They're on holiday + mc after Andy had an operation recently. They are off to Riyadh where they're residing in a few weeks time. It's soo good to see them again after all these years. It was like the good old days last nite. The same animated conversation & lotsa laughs..Guys, hope to see u all again in the future..may be in Johor or Riyadh..:)

Ni baru nak post recipe of the yummy ( angkat bakul lak..haha..) Blueberry Cheese Cake that i made for Baby's birthday. Memang tak rugi cuba. Got the recipe from the famous k.ummi. Thanks k.Ummi..Here's the recipe:

Blueberry Cheese Cake

Bahan base:

240gm biskut coklat marie, hancurkan

140gm mentega, cairkan

2 sudu besar gula castor

Gaul sebati serbuk biskut dengan gula kastor dan butter. Ratakan dan tekan dalam springfoam, biar padat. sejukkan dalam fridge.

Bahan Filling:
300 gm cream cheese
2 sudu besar jus lemon
2 sudu besar serbuk gelatin
1/2 cawan air panas
500 ml whipping cream
2/3 cawan gula
topping - filling blueberry

Pukul whipping cream dengan mixer pada kelajuan tinggi hingga kental. Ketepikan.
Campurkan serbuk gelatin bersama air panas kacau hingga benar2 larut. Ketepikan.
Dalam bekas lain, pukul cream cheese, gula dan jus lemon hingga sebati. Kemudian masukkan larutan gelatin. Pukul lagi. Masukkan whipping cream tadi, kacau hingga sebati dan rata. Tuang ke atas bahan dasar. Sejukkan dalam fridge semalaman. Sapukan blueberry filling.
